About Tyre Belts

I began making these belts after getting the idea while mending a puncture!
The tyres are carefully hand cut and thoroughly washed before being crafted into what is a strong and hard-wearing belt.
I soon found that there are many different types of tyre out there, of varying width, thickness, tread pattern, and quality. Rather than try to display each one individually I decided to split them into 3 broad categories:
- Wide knobbly
- Wide Smooth
- Narrow Smooth
In addition to these, some belts I create are so cool, unusual, or of such high quality, that I display and sell them individually. These premium belts are often made from top branded bike tyres and I use the branding logo to make the securing loop.
The amount of wear and tear a tyre has received before being transformed into a tyre belt varies. Some I receive from my suppliers seem to be as good as new whereas others are well worn. I find that either are equally good for belt making but if you prefer one over the other let me know when ordering and I will try to accommodate.
All belts fit most usual sizes; I cut the holes to fit a 28-38 inch waist. Please let me know if you are an ‘unusual’ size and I will cut the holes in your belt accordingly. I cut each belt to leave a good length remaining - if you find your belt is too long it is easy to cut it to length with a strong pair of scissors.
